GSoC 2018 Progress: Building lttoolbox features week by week

August 9, 2018

Note: This post is based on the GSoC 2018 Progress page. For detailed weekly updates and progress logs, please refer to the Apertium wiki page.

This post documents the weekly progress of my Google Summer of Code 2018 project with Apertium, where I worked on extending lttoolbox to have the power of HFST.

The project involved:

  • Implementing morphographemics (Two-Level Morphology rules)
  • Adding lexical weights to the lttoolbox transducer
  • Extending lt-proc with n-best path output options
  • Modifying the XML format to support weights

Throughout the summer, I worked closely with my mentors Francis Tyers and Tommi Pirinen, contributing to multiple repositories including lttoolbox, apertium-core, and apertium-lex-tools.

For detailed weekly progress logs, code examples, and implementation details, see the full progress page on the Apertium wiki.
